About Book

Published with pride by Yijia Publishing

"Ms. Zi Zhongyun is perhaps one of the most respected senior figures in academia, culture, and intellectual circles today." - Liang Wendao

"She doesn't pander to the world or conform to popular trends, standing independently between heaven and earth with her strong character." - Yang Jisheng

"The author rarely wastes words; her narration is concise and direct, hitting the nail on the head. Her arguments are just, and a hidden ideal of enlightenment shines through. This is the style of a master from a bygone era." - Douban reader "No Dissent"

"Ms. Zi Zhongyun is truly a brave warrior, a scholar who stands apart from the world with unyielding integrity!" - Douban reader Long Chen

This book is another selected collection by the renowned scholar Zi Zhongyun, following "Selected Works of Zi Zhongyun" in 2011 and "Old Sayings" in 2013. It includes articles, lecture transcripts, and interview records from 2013-2022 that have not yet been compiled. The complete work comprises two volumes and eight sections, covering various aspects such as academic thought, public discourse, and private life. The four sections of the first volume are: Culture and Education, Public Welfare and Social Improvement, Leisurely Thoughts and Random Notes, and Interviews. The four sections of the second volume are: History and National Salvation, World Observations, Remembering Old Friends, and The Home of Music.
"It's hard to achieve much in the world, but I act according to what my heart finds peace with." Ms. Zi modified a famous quote by Zeng Guofan to describe herself. She does not pander to the world or conform to popular trends, advocating for Chinese people to break free from the "imperial tutor" complex. In her half a million words, her thoughts and concerns still revolve around "the homeland where she was born, grew up, and will eventually grow old."
