In 2019, the book "Kim Ji-young, Born 1982" included a mailing address. Over the past two years, the editorial department has received more than 500 letters from readers across the country, including emails and handwritten letters. Readers span all age groups, professions, and regions, with a majority being female, but male readers have also written in to say that reading the book made them realize the difficult situation women face. These letters are sincere and unpretentious, showing us the existence of a vast and silent multitude of "Kim Ji-youngs" in China, which is both poignant and inspiring.
For the 2021 new edition, the editorial department specially created a standalone supplement, "Awakening and Echoes," featuring 15 representative and moving letters, all with the authors' permission.
