About Book
★Another masterpiece of Zhao Song's novel following "Fushun Story Collection", one of the top 5 works on Douban's annual Chinese Literature High Score List, and "The Building Block Book", the annual work of the One Way Street Bookstore Literary Award ★Uses bizarre imagination to construct a Spring and Autumn world beyond the power struggles ★Uses poetic language to activate the genes of traditional Chinese literature ★Gongzi Shou who died for his brother, Gongzi Lan who was content with a weak position, and Duke Yin of Lu who had no desires... They were not competitive but had no choice, just like countless people trapped by fate for thousands of years, so lonely and so eager for freedom.

"Yin" is a collection of short stories based on portions of the Zuo Zhuan, written using the techniques of contemporary fiction. The author doesn't attempt to present a panoramic view of the Spring and Autumn Period, but rather focuses on the delicate relationship between individual fate and the times. In that turbulent era, there were rationalists who adhered to the moral and ethical traditions of the Zhou Dynasty, as well as those who broke all rules without moral restraint. The author portrays Confucius, Xia Ji, Zilu, Duke Yin of Lu, and others from a different historical perspective. In this world of constantly shifting perspectives, the reader may even forget the characters' names, immersed in the ever-shifting visuals, the overlapping passages of time, and the continuous fusion of sounds and atmospheres. It all feels as if it were happening in the reader's imagination, or even in a dream.

It is difficult to define the writer Zhao Song by region. In this "New Story", it is best to observe him from the perspective of historical geography, just as it is best to observe his imagination from the perspective of cross-cultural literary geography. Zhao Song is a writer worth waiting for, just as writers and readers wait together for the long and subtle evolution of vernacular Chinese. ——Sun Ganlu's "Hidden" retells historical events and reconstructs the inner world of historical figures from a personal perspective, presenting the scenery of the shady side of "Zuo Zhuan". It is the author's exploration of the contemporary novel genre, but what is revealed between the lines is the ancient meaning derived from the Chinese literary tradition. ——Zhao Song's novel collection "Hidden" by Zhi'an uses the narrative function and fulfillment direction of oracle inscriptions, cleverly combining prophecy, history and reality to show the tragedy and nothingness in historical scenes. The novel seems to be based on history, but it constantly blurs the boundaries in time and space, and is especially experimental in style. ——Hu Chuanji (Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Sun Yat-sen University)
In the cracks of traditional Spring and Autumn chronicles, in the corners of the complex souls of the past, and behind the scenes of power, desire, conquest, seclusion, and population, Zhao Song unleashes his imagination, using a meticulous, complex, and even seductive style to allow past characters to once again appear on the stage in modern narratives, thus outlining the deep pain hidden in the darkness and completing a solemn historical retrospection in a brand new novel form. - Huang Dehai (Literary Critic)
