Fyodor Dostoyevsky, a renowned 19th-century Russian writer, wrote The Injured and Insulted, one of his most significant works. The novel depicts the persecution of the "little people," particularly two vulnerable women: Natasha, the housekeeper's daughter, and his illegitimate daughter, Nellie, by the bourgeois adventurer Valkovsky, and the tragedy that ensued in these two families.
