In 1895, at the age of 41, Oscar Wilde, already a renowned figure in Britain, was sued by his friend Percy's father over their relationship. While in prison, Wilde penned "Letter from the Abyss," a monologue that reveals his feelings for Percy, laced with hatred but also with love and tenderness. The book also captures this ambassador of aestheticism's perspectives on beauty, art, and life. Five years later, Wilde died, and this book became his final masterpiece.
