About Book

PICO BOGUE

PICO BOGUE is a comic character from books published by Dargaud in France—a spirited little boy with fluffy red hair. This series of comic books, starring him, was created by Belgian author and artist Dominique Roques and Alexis Dormal. In the books, Pico and his younger sister, Ana Ana, experience various growing-up issues and leave a series of reflections: What is love? What is life? How important is parental attention to children? Should we believe in Santa Claus? What should we do when in danger...?
This set of books is the Chinese translation of the French version of "Pico Bogue" [1], with seven volumes: "Life and Me," "Emergency," "Mental Balance," "The Experience of Love," "Minor Friction," "Don't Be Impatient," and "Unlimited Imagination."
The authors of this comic + picture book series, Belgian artists and writers Dominique Roques and Alexis Dormal, are a mother-son duo. They are usually low-key and, in their creations, never follow trends but adhere to their inner aesthetic principles of freshness, poetry, subtle philosophy, and subtle humor. The small, interesting everyday stories in their drawings also reflect the delicate parent-child relationship within this artistic family.
Because the little protagonist Pico's blonde younger sister, Ana Ana, is particularly playful and adorable, the authors also created a dedicated set of four picture books starring Ana Ana [2]: "A Good Night's Sleep," "Chocolate Storm," "Seaside Adventures," and "The Mischief Maker."
