Faust

Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1749-1832), Germany's greatest poet, holds a pivotal position in the history of world literature, often considered one of the Four Great Masters of Literature, alongside Homer, Dante, and Shakespeare. "Faust," Goethe's masterpiece, is a poetic tragedy based on a 16th-century folk tale. It represents the culmination of Goethe's lifelong dedication to writing.
