Maddi, a young boy who escaped a harsh upbringing, grew into an upright teenager under the care and tutelage of a blind prophet. He became the village messenger. Recently, strange changes have befallen the village: the once friendly, warm, and helpful villagers have decided to close their gates and no longer accept outside refugees. Tasked by the village leader, Maddi sets off through the vast forest to deliver the news of the border closure to the outside world. Additionally, he has a mission to bring the blind prophet's daughter, Kira, to settle in their village. However, the great forest is no longer friendly, and Maddi and Kira's journey back becomes extremely perilous. Can Maddi complete his mission and earn the title of "Messenger" he so desperately desires? What do his talents mean for him and this precarious world?
