A Forest Within a Forest: Film Journal

This book is adapted from Zheng Zhi's novel of the same name. It includes the original screenplay, director's notes, and rare stills, offering a documentary-style revelation of Zheng Zhi's complete creative journey and unraveling plot details that audiences care most about but were left unsaid in the film.

Beneath the rekindled spark of old love lies the silent barrel of fate's gun. Lovers and enemies instantly switch roles, and two families across three generations are linked by a murder case. Their destinies are deeply rooted and inextricably intertwined in the land of Northeast China.

No one can escape the shackles of the past; love, hate, and guilt are all entangled in the passage of time.
