About Book
"Old Friends Half Fade Away" is the latest collection of essays by renowned essayist Ye Fu. The book consists of four volumes. The first, "Elegy," chronicles Ye Fu's enduring friendships with several of his former friends, including Shih Ming-teh, the founding leader of the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party; Zhang Sizhi, a master of Chinese legal debate; Wang Kang, a scholar who died in exile; Shen Changwen, the renowned publisher and editor-in-chief of "Reading" magazine; and Wang Jingwen, the untimely lead actor in the classic Taiwanese film "A Dust in the Wind." The second, "Reminiscence," chronicles the author's first love, his youthful romances, and his social interactions. The third, "Chronicle," includes a detailed account of the shocking June 4th case commemorating the 25th anniversary, an in-depth exploration of Ye Fu's family history, and the stories of his fellow inmates behind bars. The fourth, "Travel Notes," records the author's observations and reflections on his European travels to Germany, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Luxembourg, as well as his efforts in rural development in Luojiang, Sichuan.
