“Memories do not bring comfort, but they may keep the inner life going.”

However, "Fushun Stories" is not a memoir. From the initial writing about people and events to the final description of those insignificant places, everything has been brewing for eleven years, generating a narrative space in which characters and places flow based on a certain network structure.

Of the twenty-five short stories about Fushun, fifteen are about people and ten about places. These interweave and unfold a fleeting yet tender, seemingly nostalgic imaginary place. When the final story shifts to a small German town, light appears where space opens.
