Don't stop, dancing voice,
Long and low narration, things are stained and dispersed by the soul of words,
On summer evenings, night ceases to exist.
It is the voice that brings existence into appearance,
Mixed into the same snowflake,
The voice is almost silent when a dream asks for too much and is sure it will get it.

"The Bent Plank" is a collection of poems by the contemporary French poet Yves Bonnefoy, published in 2001. It includes seven collections written by the poet at the turn of the century: "Summer Rain", "Distant Voices", "In the Trap of Words", "The Old House at Birth", "The Bent Plank", "Still Blind", and "Throwing Stones". It overlaps memories and introspection, lyricism and speculation, presenting the poet's typical late style.
