About Book

"Things that have never come to pass are actually brewing."

The world is in turmoil, with legislators involved in drug scandals, undercover agents bribing police and betraying them, and power struggles at universities...
Amidst endless violence, how can people find peace and freedom?

"Little Violence" is a story of redemption after experiencing violence. Set in Taiwan, it recounts a complex series of violent incidents. Beginning with a police officer, Xiao Gu, investigating the illegal activities of a political mastermind, the film delve deeper into drug-related cases at a legislator's guesthouse, a power struggle among deans at a university, bribery and betrayal between gangs and the police... It reveals the interplay and cycle of violence across various forms, including domestic violence, school bullying, and gangland rivalries.

Through the perspectives of different characters involved in the events, the author interweaves the diverse nature of family relationships and the struggles and choices they make amidst difficult circumstances. Zhou Yufen, through her own perspective, depicts how escaping the constraints of marriage and pursuing her own identity only to harm her young son; Hong Anan, a victim of domestic violence since childhood, still longs for her father's love and approval; and Xia Mu, motherless, faces the care and love of others, yet fears being hurt again.

Despite having personally experienced the shadow of various forms of violence and their unsatisfied desire for love and understanding, the main characters in the novel continue to make choices in the face of life's dilemmas: either fleeing from their families and the past, or leaving the system to live for themselves, or accepting past pain and reconciling.

Even in a world filled with violence, there is still escape and redemption.
