About Book

Saf ve Düşünceli Romancı

The latest work by Orhan Pamuk, the 2006 Nobel Prize winner in Literature!
As of this book, all of Pamuk's important works have been published.
A novelist's revelations and desires for his readers.
Reflections on the literature that made Orhan Pamuk a success.
It is Lao Pa, who is familiar to Chinese readers, who calls everyone with innocent optimism - "Let's read novels!"
One way for modern, secular individuals to grasp a deeper, more profound meaning in the world is to read great literary novels. In reading them, we come to understand that the world, and our minds, have more than one center.
—Orhan Pamuk
In 2009, Orhan Pamuk was invited to give six speeches at Harvard University, the famous Norton Lectures, of which this is a collection.
Pamuk said that after completing "The Museum of Innocence," he felt like he had returned to square one after 35 years as a novelist, though he also realized (as many others agree) that this square was not his starting point. He gradually formed a mental image of his literary journey, and he felt it was time to discuss it.
“I want to talk about my journey into fiction, the stops I’ve made along the way, the art of fiction and the form I’ve studied, the constraints they’ve imposed on me, my struggles with them and my attachments to them. At the same time, I want my lectures to be essays or meditations on the art of fiction, rather than a trip down memory lane or a discussion of my personal development.”
