书籍简介
This book won the 1998 Caldecott Medal; was recommended by the American Library Association as a Book of the Year in 1999; was named the New York Times Best Picture Book of the Year in 1998; was selected as one of the "100 Picture Books Everyone Should Know" (revised) by the New York Public Library; and won the Reader's Award at the 7th Japan Picture Book Award in 2001.
Every child who has watched "David, No" loves him very much. This innocent little boy who made a mess at home makes them feel happy and relieved. Which child in the world doesn't want to be like David, scribbling on the walls as he pleases, turning the bathroom into a swamp, and banging iron pots on his head to make clanging noises...
On the last page, David is held tightly in his mother's arms, closing his eyes in bliss. His mother's words, "Be good, David, I love you," instantly dissolve all of David's tears and grievances. This touching moment is so heartwarming, and the entire story takes a sharp turn. A story of a childhood prank ends with such a loving gesture.
