About Book
Living so far from home, I've become accustomed to longing for my hometown and my parents from afar. These distant thoughts are often accompanied by a sudden surge of childhood memories, a wave that always brings tears to my eyes. Whenever I reminisce, I feel as if the warmth of those times has not faded. I see my parents—their youthful images stand before me, vibrant and full of life, along with those all-too-familiar words and emotions. Some things, though old, remain forever special to me. In this ordinary world, they allow me to be content and happy as an ordinary daughter, thanks to my parents and the unique treasure they have given me.
I remember my father frequently traveling for business to build a house when I was very young. Like his father back then, the "father" in this story, rushing home to reunite with his daughter, meticulously builds a perfect home, cultivating his daughter's fondness and trust. In reality, he brings his child more than just a sense of home and the comfort of love; he also fosters a devoted attachment and a renewed sense of longing after "father" leaves.
The "I" in the story has a coin, and that coin contains more of my thoughts, gratitude and attachment. It has existed in my heart for many years, but I only gave it to my father today through this story.
It was another harsh winter when I finished the manuscript. The weather was freezing, and everyone was talking about the Lunar New Year. This conversation made me miss home so much. I never imagined that many years later, my father and I would swap roles—he was the one watching from home, and I was the one desperately trying to get home for the Lunar New Year…
