【Content Introduction】
"Ten years is not a short time. How many decades can a person have?" In 1941, on the tenth anniversary of Xu Zhimo's death, Bian Zhilin compiled "Ten Years of Poetry," a collection of his poems to date published in commemoration of Mr. Xu Zhimo. This collection includes "Yinchen Collection," "Yinchen Collection Outside," "Decoration Collection," and "Letters of Comfort." Bian Zhilin's poetry possesses a profound sense of relativity, blending European influences with classical influences, combining speculation with tenderness, a vibrant and dynamic language that exudes romance amidst restraint. He emerged from the "New Moon" era into the "modern era," establishing a unique style and becoming a master of Chinese poetry.
This book was revised according to the poet's handwriting during his lifetime and has been reprinted in its original form ten years later.
【Editor's Recommendation】
Although the poet himself called this collection of poems "hasty", it is actually an indispensable work in the history of modern Chinese poetry.
"Some literary creations, once completed, are irreversible unless they are simply cancelled; others require constant reworking, never reaching the author's ideal final form. 'Poetry draft' originally means 'poetry draft.' 'Ten Years of Poetry Draft' has survived many decades. I have remained faithful to history, refraining from alteration, while remaining true to art. Despite repeated reworking, the result remains a sloppy mess. This doesn't mean time is merciless." —Bian Zhilin [Recommended by Experts]
The greatest achievement of simple poetry in the future may belong to Zhilin.
——Shen Congwen and Bian Zhilin’s new poems are like ancient style. Their style is the newest, but their humor is the oldest.
——Bian Zhilin's poetry is unique in the history of modern Chinese literature, with its beautiful combination of Fei Ming's graceful and elegant ci and metaphysical poetry. ——Jiang Ruoshui
