This is the story of two lonely, skinny, and quite old men who meet on a dying planet.
One of them was science fiction writer Trout, who was unknown and thought his life was over.
He meets Dwayne, a car dealer who is successful in his career but on the verge of a mental breakdown.
After the two met, one became famous and the other went crazy.
All of this is due to a theory in a science fiction novel. Its core idea is as follows:
