About Book

"Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" is a collection of classical Chinese short stories from the early Qing Dynasty in my country. Completed in the early Qing Dynasty, it represents the culmination of ancient Chinese tales of the supernatural and strange, earning the reputation of being "unprecedented and unrivaled." The collection includes nearly 500 stories, ranging from folk customs and folklore to bizarre anecdotes and the strange transformations of the world, encompassing a wide range of themes. "Liaozhai" refers to the name of the bookshop, "zhi" means to record, and "yi" refers to strange stories. This collection is based on the author's manuscript (the first half) and a handwritten copy. It also incorporates the strengths of Mr. Zhang He's "Collated, Annotated, and Commented Edition," selecting the best and collcutting them.
