"General Knowledge of Ancient Chinese Culture" is a concise primer on general knowledge of ancient Chinese culture, compiled under the direction of renowned linguist Professor Wang Li in the early 1960s, with the collaboration of numerous experts. Since its publication, the work has enjoyed sustained popularity and remains an important and comprehensive foundational reference for the general public to understand ancient Chinese culture.
This series is an authorized comic version of "General Knowledge of Ancient Chinese Culture," meticulously compiled and illustrated by Meng Yu, an associate research fellow at the Palace Museum and a PhD from Tsinghua University. It interprets the original text word by word and sentence by sentence through comic illustrations, supplemented with a vast amount of archaeological, cultural, and historical materials and hand-drawn illustrations.
The volume "Ancient Lifestyles" extracts five chapters from the original work: Food and Drink, Clothing and Ornaments, Palaces, Carriages and Horses, and Miscellaneous Items.
