Spatial Anthropology of Tokyo

*Spatial Anthropology of Tokyo* (Tokyo no kūkan jinruigaku) is a book written by Japanese scholar Hidenobu Jinnai in 1985. The book not only achieved impressive sales but also won the Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities that year (equivalent to "Japan's Book of the Year Award"). A series of works on Tokyo's urban space published in the 1980s, represented by this book, sparked the so-called "Tokyo論" (Tokyo論) craze in the Japanese mass media. This trend has not subsided even today.
