About the Book
Zheng Zeyu's first poetry collection. It is divided into six sections: Section 1 "Gentle Curse," Section 2 "Shadows of the City," Section 3 "Incarnation,"
Section 4 "Playing God," Section 5 "Deep Contraction and Traces," and Section 6 "Going Home."
The poet wrote about his thoughts on publishing the poetry collection:
"So, that turtle can set off, carrying my past, present, and future, extending into various forms with the stream of consciousness. From my personal museum, it begins with the earliest love poems, then moves to the light, shadow, and vicissitudes brought by the city and adulthood after entering society. When too much steel and concrete have been seen, I want to transform into an animal, returning to and running through the rainforest. After borrowing from animals, I want to move to a higher supernatural level, continuing to ponder the truth through myths of ghosts and gods. Later, realizing that all things have spirits and I am merely a tiny medium in a vast universe, I deeply contract back within myself, conversing with myself, and processing shadows. Finally, I return to my hometown, tracing origins, zeroing myself out. Realizing that all old things can also grow new meanings, I seem to have also completed a journey of returning to my heart, able to be brave again, to feel the fluidity of life again, and I also wish that my writing career can be as long-lived and strong as a turtle."
