The research in this book will revolve around the screen, breaking the boundaries between images, real objects and original environments, covering a variety of art and cultural types, from portraits and pictorial narratives to voyeurism and disguise, exploring the unique position of the screen in Chinese art, and then focusing on a rather grand question - what is traditional Chinese painting?
