Sayonara Goodbye

In "Gong," the self-esteem and self-deception of Han Qinzai, who was laid off from his gong-playing job by a loudspeaker truck and subsequently became unemployed for a long time, are vividly portrayed. In other short stories collected in this book, such as "Drowning an Old Cat" and "Ringworm," Huang Chunming embraces these ordinary people with a playful yet witty tone and a warm and caring gaze. His criticism is not about the seemingly ridiculous little people, but about the social problems that lead them to tragedy. Despite the ever-changing social environment, what remains unchanged is Huang Chunming's consistent concern for the little people.
