About Book

Brave New World, Brave New World Revisited

Published in 1932, *Brave New World* is Aldous Huxley's most outstanding masterpiece and one of the most famous dystopian literary classics of the 20th century. It is often regarded as one of the "dystopian trilogy" alongside Orwell's *Nineteen Eighty-Four* and Zamyatin's *We*, having a profound influence on literary and intellectual circles both domestically and internationally. This allegorical work depicts Huxley's vision of the future of human society: through the most effective scientific and psychological engineering, humans are genetically and biologically pre-designed to be members of various social strata, completely reduced to docile machines, with individuality and freedom stifled, and literature and art on the verge of destruction. Following this allegorical novel masterpiece, *Brave New World*, Huxley published the non-fiction work *Brave New World Revisited* in 1958. In this eloquent work, the author uses his extensive knowledge of sociology and anthropology to compare various aspects of modern society—such as overpopulation, propaganda and brainwashing, and chemical persuasion—with the allegorical picture he envisioned in *Brave New World*, concluding that his early pessimistic predictions were becoming a reality. This book collects both of Huxley's most classic works.
