Wait, forget

Where does forgetting begin? Where does memory end? Thinking about forgetting makes us aware of the impossibility of even thinking about our own beginnings. To think about forgetting is to think about memory. This dialectic places waiting squarely in the spotlight. In a conversation between a man and a woman, nothing is said, everything disappears.

"Novel", "narrative" and "criticism" are constantly weakening in Blanchot's world, so that in "Waiting, Forgetting" the only thing that is still allowed to speak is language itself - it is not anyone's, neither fictional nor reflective, not the language of those who have spoken nor the language of those who have not yet spoken, but "between them, like this fixed empty space, the accumulation of things in their potential state."
Lost in the silence of thought, returning from oneself to oneself in waiting.
By waiting, things that have left the mind return to the mind that has lost its way.
Waiting is a lost place without losing direction, and a wandering place without wanderers.
