In his book The Rhetoric of Mythology, the mythologist Roland Barthes deciphers the myths of everyday life, exploring the reconciliation of reality and humanity, description and interpretation, and object and knowledge. He attempts to convey to readers that we constantly navigate between objects and their demystification, unable to recover the full picture: because if we enter the object, we liberate it but also destroy it; if we leave it alone, we respect it but also mystify it.
