"White Nights" is a collection of novellas by the great 19th-century Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky, including his famous works "Poor People," "White Nights," and "The Gambler." "White Nights" tells the story of an innocent girl named Nastenka who falls in love with a young lodger. They agree to meet on a bridge in St. Petersburg a year from now, but the lodger fails to show up. Deeply moved by the girl's affection, the protagonist, the "Dreamer," waits with her by the river for four consecutive nights until the lodger appears.
