About Book

Del amor y otros demonios

★Dedicated to those who are immersed in the tears of love: Love can conquer everything? Yes, but you'd better not believe it.
★A magical realist love masterpiece by Gabriel García Márquez★A great introduction to the Nobel Prize-winning author's reading experience, the key to unlocking the "Marquez Universe"★"What happiness cannot cure, no medicine can cure."
Is it love called the devil, or the devil called love? Hallucinogenic imagination, extremely magical and extremely gorgeous. Love is the most important topic in human history. Everything is related to love. Age has made me realize that emotions and tenderness, what happens in the heart, are ultimately the most important. In a way, all my works are about love. - Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Weird, terrifying, glittering, gloomy. A world of Garcia Marquez that we are familiar with. - The New York Times Book Review
------------------------------------------------------------
The priest fell in love with the girl who was rumored to be possessed by the devil.
He realized he was floating on a cloud all his own, and nothing in this world or the next meant anything to him except the image of the girl being dragged down to Hell by the devil. He retreated to the library, but couldn't concentrate on reading; he prayed absentmindedly, singing the songs the girl had played on her qin; he cried, and his tears, like drops of scalding oil, burned his heart.
He bared his chest and pulled out an iron ruler from a drawer that he dared not touch on weekdays. He whipped himself with hatred, determined to drive the girl's shadow out of his body. When someone saw him, he was rolling in the mire of blood and tears.
"It's the devil," he said, "the most terrible kind of devil."
