A Long Walk to Water

This is a story about perseverance and hope.
In 1985, Salva, an 11-year-old boy, had his peaceful life shattered by gunshots. He became separated from his family and began a decade-long escape. In search of a safe haven, Salva walked through refugee camps in Ethiopia, Sudan, and Kenya, his journey spanning almost the entire African continent. He never knew whether death or tomorrow would come first, yet even in his darkest hours, he never gave up the glimmer of hope of reuniting with his family…
In 2008, Nya, an 11-year-old girl, had to spend eight hours a day walking back and forth between her home and a pond to fetch water for her family. She did this for seven months every year.
Two unfortunate young people, in their respective suffering and hardship, held onto the same belief – that even living in a turbulent world, as long as hope is always present, a bright future is sure to come.
When these two stories converge in a hopeful ending, every compassionate heart will surely be moved and thrilled.
