"Grandma Tiger"
There was a foolish big tiger who ate the careless grandma, and then wanted to eat grandma's little granddaughter, Duoduo. But Duoduo was so clever; she saw through the tiger's tricks and went around looking for help. Her embroidery sister gave her needles, the杂货 (grocery) shop brother gave her firecrackers, the fisherman uncle gave her crabs, and the vegetable-growing grandpa gave her watermelon. Everyone ambushed, waiting for the foolish big tiger...
"Grandma Tiger" features a big tiger who is foolish and funny, and Duoduo who is smart and brave. After reading the book, you can't help but pay tribute to the painter Mr. Zhan Tong. Look at the expressions he drew for the tiger – they are so vivid! And those crabs, firecrackers, watermelons, and so on, all seem to have personalities and can talk, as if they are leaping out of the picture to bring the lively mischief of children to the readers.
"Good Little One"
Mr. Tian Yuan is best at drawing cute children, so in "Good Little One," every picture is beautiful and every child is adorable; Mr. Lu Bing is best at writing for children, so in "Good Little One," every poem is catchy and many poetic realms are thought-provoking. It's worth commending that this new edition uses a quiet blue fabric pattern for the endpapers at the very front. This gives the entire book a gentle, caring, and warm quality. It looks like it will be the most beautiful picture book in the hearts of many mothers!
"The Little Tadpole Looks for His Mother"
This book was painted by the master of traditional Chinese painting, Mr. Chen Qiucao, and written by the master of words, Mr. Lu Bing. There's no need to say more; who among Chinese people doesn't know "The Little Tadpole Looks for His Mother"?!
"Golden Gourd, Silver Bean"
The illustrations are in the style of folk paper-cutting; painter Mr. Ke Ming's paintings always have a simple beauty. The story itself comes from folklore, and the author Mr. Zhao Yanyi's adaptation is very meticulous – so much so that one extra word would make it too "fat," and one less word too "thin"! Both the painter and the storyteller are masters. And the story itself, about two children defeating the villain, can be described in two words: satisfying!
"Mr. Dongguo"
"Mr. Dongguo" is an ancient story, and more importantly, it was painted by the master of traditional Chinese painting, Mr. Ma De! There may be many versions of "Mr. Dongguo" on the market, but the one painted by Mr. Ma De is unique.
"The Nine-Colored Deer"
When painting the story of "The Nine-Colored Deer," painter Mr. Zhang Shiming referenced the style of Dunhuang frescoes, combined with the靈動 (liveliness) of children's drawings, giving the entire book a mysterious sense of beauty. Reading this book, both in terms of art style and story, offers children a unique aesthetic experience.
"Banana Doll"
The story comes from folklore and is a tale of a cycle of love. We all know that during growth, children must learn to share, because they need to step out of themselves and become social beings. "Banana Doll" is a story about great love, telling children: giving is receiving.
