Escape from death

This edition of "Dan Du" returns to local creations, releasing a new collection of original fiction after a four-year hiatus. It brings together new works by seven young novelists, including Guo Yujie, Zheng Zaihuan, Kuai Lehao, Suo Er, Shuang Xuetao, Sun Yisheng, and Yan Ge, as well as poetry by Hu Bo, essays by Li Jing, and literary criticism by Jia Xingjia, Xu Zhiqiang, and Xu Zhaozheng. Furthermore, "Dan Du" introduces a "Chinese-English Novel Reading" for the first time, featuring Yan Ge's novels in both Chinese and English, transcending the boundaries of language and culture.
Most of these works were created between late 2019 and 2021, at a time when the world was riven by crisis and we were on the brink of extinction. Before reason could arrive, our bodies, emotions, and desires had already reacted. Behind literature lies the current state of the mind, and we seek to use new literary voices to respond to this new reality.
