Behind the Scenes of Children's Books
A big reveal of the daily lives of children's favorite story characters,
A day trip through the social circles of story characters,
Opening the door to stories for imaginative children and adults
◎ Editor's Recommendation
☆ A big reveal of the daily lives of children's favorite story characters, a day trip through the social circles of story characters
Little Red Riding Hood is reading "The Mischief Maker," the Big Bad Wolf is reading "The Good Wolf Daily," and Little Red Riding Hood's basket hasn't even been tidied up; Peter Rabbit signs a contract with three robbers; Pompon the little elephant and Elmer the patchwork elephant undergo a magical transformation; Rainbow Fish, who loves to share, finally becomes a guest of honor in a frying pan; The Very Hungry Caterpillar is an intern at the coat check...
According to incomplete statistics, at least 50 story characters appear in the book: Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Rabbit, Three Robbers, Pinocchio, Blue Dog, White Rabbit, Little Mole, Wild Things, Pompon the little elephant...
☆ A tribute to classic children's book characters and masters, the humorous universe of Bachlet and the fierce collision of fairy tale towns
Through humorous arrangements, classic or well-known characters from children's literature are linked in a wonderful yet harmonious way. Gilles Bachelet uses these story characters to create new, interesting intersections of stories, while respecting the personalities of these characters, or rather, respecting our readers' understanding of these characters. How delightful!
Gilles Bachelet pays tribute to contemporary children's authors with his humor and unique style, such as Claude Ponti, David McKee, Stéphanie Blake, Werner Holzwarth, Anthony Browne, Maurice Sendak, Philippe Corentin, Tomi Ungerer... He also pays tribute to classic stories like "Little Red Riding Hood," "The Three Bears," and "Cinderella."
☆ An alternative booklist to inspire children's imagination, taking children into the land of stories
Characters from children's books step out of their original books, like coming home from work, and meeting characters from other stories. These characters, more or less, haven't fully recovered from their previous stories and have wonderful chemical reactions with characters from other stories, creating new stories. Blaise the chicken runs out of "The Thousand Secrets of a Chicken" and collapses on the psychiatrist's brown therapy chair, taking off his mask and staring blankly; the Wild Things from "Where the Wild Things Are" escape the island and gleefully destroy books; Geronimo Stilton, the great reporter from "Geronimo Stilton," after finishing his adventures and world travels, sheds his disguise and takes a hot bath... In this book, you'll see many new stories, and at the same time, a desire to read the old stories will emerge.

◎ Media Reviews
This picture book explores the world of children's publishing through some very interesting combinations, from casting to the parking lot, passing through the lost and found and merchandise along the way, in short, an absolutely irresistible humorous universe.
If you already know Gilles Bachelet, don't hesitate for a second, this picture book is also a must-have. He plays with the roles of other colleagues, but that humorous play is uniquely his own. We can have a lot of fun getting to know other authors or books through this book (if we can't guess some children's book characters, don't worry, there's a list at the end, even if we have good knowledge of children's literature, we always miss some!).
This is a treat for children's literature professionals or children's book lovers. Intertextuality may not be for all children, but their reactions are still quite good. We want them to discover children's book characters they don't yet know. And because a drawing seems simple, you have to delve into the details (the library of the little mole who wants to know who pooped on its head, the entire wall behind it is worth a special stop for readers), and there are many other little tricks hidden in the illustrations.
An unmissable behind-the-scenes journey into children's book stories!
——Amazon France Reader Review
I loved this little book, it's a combination of classic children's literature characters! I loved it.
I love its small square format, the colorful cover full of hope: behind the set of a theater stage, Little Red Riding Hood is sitting next to a very knowledgeable wolf, dressed in a bathrobe, wearing glasses, and reading "The Good Wolf Daily."
The cover illustration sets the tone for the book! Every character from children's literature is brought to the stage after humor and research: Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit signs a contract with Tomi Ungerer's three robbers, Eric Carle's caterpillar is an intern at the coat check (I'll let you imagine the holes in the coats)...
There are old classics, like Andersen's fairy tales, and new classics, like Ramona Badescu's "Pompon, the Little Elephant of the Garden." It's a joy to meet these characters (even for children) in very amusing situations.
Gilles Bachelet's lines are delicate and precise, and the colors are very beautiful. Even if he pieces things together, his style is recognizable among all.
A very good tribute book, adults familiar with children's book anecdotes can also pay attention.

To better understand the creation of picture books, this is an indispensable book!
When you read this book, you will know everything behind the scenes of children's books, from casting to destruction, to the kitchen, not forgetting the final list of involuntary participants.
Raising rabbits is also very interesting, after all, we don't really know where this tendency to let rabbits run around in books comes from.
Goal achieved: while reading this book, I also want to read more books.
