A Brief History of Photography

The book includes four essays written by Walter Benjamin in the 1930s: "A Short History of Photography" (1931), "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" (1936), "Painting and Photography" (1936) and "Exhibition of Chinese Paintings in the National Library of France" (1938).
