My road

《My Path》is one of the works launched by the Magic Elephant Picture Book Kingdom of Guangxi Normal University Press.
This is a highly artistic, literary, and philosophical picture book, telling a story about shoes, and also a story about life. A toddler boy gets his first pair of shoes, and from then on, he can choose his own path. The boy gradually realizes what he wants and what he likes. Later, he discovers an invisible pebble in his shoe, which reminds him whenever he strays from his inner path. Slowly, the boy grows up. When he falls in love, his shoes seem to grow wings, becoming incredibly light; in the barracks, when he becomes a number, the pebble rages inside his shoe. The shoes witness his every step, sharing every joy and sorrow with him, while the invisible pebble keeps him true to his inner self. Time flies by, and the boy becomes a father, then a grandfather. One day, he returns to the town where he grew up, buys a pair of shoes, and gives them to his grandson...
This seemingly simple story is full of metaphors. It is like a labyrinth, inviting readers to enter and solve a puzzle about the self.

 A autobiographical picture book by Kselan Jonaović, one of the 50 masters at the 50th anniversary of the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition.
 The animated short film of the same name won Best Film and Best Design awards at the Croatian Animation Film Festival.
