About Book

The gentleman in "I Am a Loner" is named "A Loner." He likes to set off alone, hit the road alone, walk alone, and wander alone. Whenever autumn leaves fall, "A Loner" packs his bags, leaves his home, and goes looking for summer alone.
The gentleman in the book is indeed named "A Loner." "A Loner" is all alone, "A Loner" has nothing, "A Loner" fears the cold, and "A Loner" loves summer. "A Loner" is curious about everything in the world. Later, "A Loner" had his own home, wife, and children. But "A Loner" still couldn't resist: setting off alone, hitting the road alone, and going looking for summer alone.
"I Am a Loner" was written by International Hans Christian Andersen Award-winning author Christine Nöstlinger and illustrated by Janosch. The two master creators collaborated to tell a story centered on inner life. By the end, readers might suddenly realize that "A Loner" is actually you, me, and him—it's many people—just as the same landscape transforms into many landscapes when viewed by different people.
