About Book

🍃Every farewell is a fresh start.
But grief doesn't heal on its own.
🐌The heart needs gentle mending—
🦋Walk, relax, breathe deeply, feel the world beneath your feet,
🌸Soothe those restless heartbeats in nature.
A new healing work by young cartoonist Zakuro Ishida, author of "A Stroll Manual"
“Treat yourself like a plant. Water it appropriately, absorb more sunlight.
Dig up the emotions you've been avoiding, disinfect and air them out.”
——Synopsis——
"A Walk of the Heart" is a new work by young cartoonist Zakuro Ishida, documenting her growth after experiencing life milestones such as the passing of a loved one, moving cities, and adapting to a new life in recent years. From Shanghai back to her hometown, then south to Guangzhou, she uses "stroll-like narration" to connect the process of emotional downturn and repair, listening to herself and regaining sensitivity through slow walks, bravely facing pain and separation, and rebuilding connection with her inner self.
With a serene and delicate drawing style, this book transforms daily snippets such as roadside plants, city corners, and the changing seasons into concrete emotional experiences, capturing loneliness, nostalgia, love, and tenderness in her heart, making the images undulate softly like a heartbeat, conveying deep resonance with understated brushstrokes.
It not only records the trajectory of her journey but also chronicles her inner changes; it is about loss, but also about starting anew; it is a soft yet firm self-dialogue, and a healing journey that slowly grows in the faint light of life.

+"Don't be a stone anymore, become a big tree. Or perhaps not a tree, any small flower, any small blade of grass will do."
Life is full of unpredictable changes, we are accustomed to pretending to be strong, but it is difficult to truly converse with our emotions.
Why not slow down, use "strolling" instead of "running", step by step, grounded, and reconnect with your inner self.
From self-blame and avoidance, to relaxation and acceptance, slow down like a snail, adapt quietly like a plant,
Between the familiar and the unfamiliar, subtly grow the strength to face life and keep moving forward.
