————————————————————————
This is the story of Rao Pingru's life.
He was not a man who wanted to fight, but he went to the war without hesitation. Because he was with Meitang, he eventually got tired of the war and wanted to go home.
After sixty years of companionship and many ups and downs, fate separated them forever. When they finally got together again, Meitang fell seriously ill and gradually lost her memory.
Pingru turned down all his work to take care of his wife wholeheartedly. He got up at 5 a.m. every day to comb her hair, wash her face, cook, and perform abdominal dialysis four times a day. He also had to disinfect, wear a mask, use tubes, drain ascites, administer insulin, and keep records. He didn't trust anyone else to help him.
Meitang gradually stopped cooperating due to her illness, and would occasionally pull out the tubes from her body. Her hearing was poor, and she couldn't see clearly. Pingru drew this picture to persuade her not to pull the tubes, but the picture didn't work. Pingru could only stay awake all night to watch her. After all, she was old and couldn't do this every day, so she had to tie her hands. "She yelled, 'Don't tie me up,' and it was so sad. What should I do... It was so painful."
Meitang's confusion worsened. One day, she claimed her husband had hidden their granddaughter and wouldn't let her see her. Pingru refused to believe her, saying, "He's over 80 years old. He sat on the ground, wailing."
She watched him cry, as if she couldn't see.
They had a rough life and only had a stable home in their old age, but due to old age and illness, she had already reached the end of her life.
When Meitang finally left, Pingru drew the story of him and Meitang, leaving behind the most beautiful memories of her and them.
Chai Jing once asked an old man on a show, "You're already 90 years old. Hasn't all that time smoothed this thing out?" The old man replied, "Smoothed? How can I say smooth? Loving this world takes a long time, and this is something that lasts forever."
The old man also said: If I could turn back time, I would rather go back to the more difficult times in the past and stay with each other.
This is the story of ordinary people themselves.
Only such ordinary and beautiful things can have the lasting power to move people!
