Giants and Spring

On a cold winter's night, with heavy snow falling outside, the giant was awakened by a gust of cold wind. He glimpsed a small figure outside his window. Opening the window, he found a child shivering from the cold and quickly brought the child inside. The giant prepared delicious food for the child and helped him bathe in warm water to warm up. The child smiled, and that smile caused new green shoots to sprout from the grass in the room, and flowers to bloom. It turned out that this child was spring. Ever since spring arrived, the giant felt warmth and tasted happiness. He selfishly wanted to keep spring, unwilling to let it leave, so he hid spring's cloak. But spring had to leave. Seeing spring's unhappiness and the cold outside, the giant also felt uneasy; by locking away spring, he had also locked away his own heart.
