It was when I was seventeen that I first understood:
Most major events in life happen when we least expect them.
Like your sudden departure.
All you left me were enigmatic words and that abruptly ended romance.
You said you were merely a shadow, and the real you was in a small city;
Outside the city was a living wall, indestructible yet unpredictable.
All I knew was that I had to reach that small city encircled by high walls.
I had to see you again.
Even if all that awaited me in the city was uncertainty.
