Naive Anthropologist

This book honestly yet humorously records the author's two field work experiences as an anthropologist in the Dowayo village of Cameroon, Africa, and vividly presents to readers how anthropologists overcome boredom, disasters, illness and hostility in real field life.
Unlike typical anthropological research reports, this is a hilarious anthropological notebook. Through its humorous tone, readers can see how anthropologists interact with their research subjects, how they adjust their academic preconceptions during these interactions, and how the trivialities of fieldwork influence subsequent research results, blind spots in research, and reflections. Therefore, whether you're a serious reader, a bored person just looking to kill time, or a traveler yearning for the exotic charm of Africa's primitive tribes, Barry's book is definitely an entertaining choice.
