The Gigantic Little Thing
*A Little Something* is one of the works published by Magic Elephant Books Kingdom of Guangxi Normal University Press. What is happiness? It is invisible and intangible, always passing by softly. A little girl once tried to capture it, a lady who raised alligators waited for it for a very long time, and some people encountered it in the rain, even if only for a minute or two, that was enough. As grown-up children discover, they can no longer find it in toys and candy boxes; it has quietly slipped away. Still others have found it in the embrace and eyes of others. But it always lingers gently and then flies away quietly. Though seemingly insignificant, it is of paramount importance. This is what happiness looks like. About the Author: Beatrice Alemagna is a renowned Italian picture book author, born in Bologna, Italy, in 1973. She graduated from the Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche in Urbino, Italy. Her work has a distinctive style, often not confined to traditional mediums, and frequently utilizes collage. She has won numerous awards, including the Rueuil-Malmaison Illustration Award (France), the Mildred L. Batchelder Award (USA), the Andersen Award for Best Illustrator of the Year (Italy), and the "Good Books for Everyone" Best Children's Literature Award (Taiwan). She has also been nominated three times for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. In 1996, Beatrice received the French New Talent Award, and the following year she moved to Paris. As a 24-year-old foreigner, she arrived in Paris, and the city warmly embraced her. She wanted to write a story dedicated to the city, and thus *A Lion in Paris* was born. Magic Elephant Books will also publish her works including *Who Am I? My Love* and *Clara's Treasure*. Translator: Zhao Jiaojiao, born in 1983. At the age of 16, she went to France to study tourism management and large-scale event organization. After working in France for two years, she returned to China in 2005 and joined a well-known French cultural institution, engaging in Sino-French cultural exchange for nearly a decade. During this time, she visited France, Belgium, and Quebec multiple times for exchange and study. In 2012, she was selected by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to participate in professional training for French libraries, developing a special fondness for children's books and parent-child reading. In 2014, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, she initiated and organized the first Sino-French Children's Reading Season, leading domestic colleagues to visit the French National Library and various publishers and bookstores, dedicating her efforts to promoting children's reading in China.
