Night flight westward

This book, a collection of memoirs woven together from thirty years of African life, recounts the life of the legendary Buryl Markham, from her childhood to 1936. She was passionate about training racehorses and flying airplanes. The book covers her childhood in Africa, her safaris, her friendships with the local indigenous people, her horse training, and her solo career in East Africa, flying a two-seater wooden propeller plane and leading hunting teams in search of elephants. It also details the political and natural obstacles she encountered on her return flight from Africa to England, and finally, her solo transatlantic flight from England to North America in September 1936.
