About Book

Published with pride by Yijia Publishing

"Mr. Zi Zhongyun is probably one of the most respected elders in today's academic, cultural, and intellectual circles." -- Liang Wendao

"She does not pander to the world or conform to popular trends, standing independently between heaven and earth with an independent personality." -- Yang Jisheng

"The author rarely wastes words; her narrative is concise and direct, hitting the nail on the head, holding firm to righteous views, and concealing an enlightened ideal. This is the style of a master from the previous generation." -- Douban reader "No Objection"

"Mr. Zi Zhongyun is truly a brave warrior, a scholar who stands aloof from the world with unyielding integrity!" -- Douban reader Long Chen

Following "Selected Works of Zi Zhongyun" in 2011 and "Old Sayings" in 2013, this book is another self-selected collection by the renowned scholar Zi Zhongyun. It includes articles written between 2013 and 2022 that have not yet been compiled into a collection, as well as edited lecture transcripts and interview records. The complete work consists of two volumes and eight sections, covering various aspects such as academic reflections, public discourse, and private life. The four sections of the first volume are: Culture and Education, Public Welfare and Social Improvement, Leisure and Miscellaneous Thoughts, and Interviews. The four sections of the second volume are: History and National Salvation, World Observations, Remembering Old Friends, and Musical Home.

Mr. Zi's major works, such as "America in the 21st Century" and "Ten Lectures on America," which comprehensively introduce the United States, "The Responsibility of Wealth and the Evolution of Capitalism," which studies the history of the development and evolution of American non-profit organizations, and "The Predicament of Chinese Intellectuals," which explores the spirit of traditional Chinese intellectuals, are all groundbreaking works in their respective fields. Her most recent works include the autobiography "A Fleeting Life in a Vast World" (Oxford University Press, 2019). "Sunset Musings," which compiles her works from the past decade, consistently demonstrates sharp thinking and profound insights, while maintaining a simple and clear writing style, truly embodying the demeanor of a master.
