Every now and then, I'd suddenly vomit up a rabbit.
When I feel like I'm about to vomit out a rabbit, I spread two fingers, like a clamp, and put them in my mouth, waiting for the warm fur to emerge from my throat like a fruit-flavored effervescent tablet, cleanly, quickly, and neatly. I took out my fingers, holding a pair of the little white rabbit's ears between them.
I started playing tricks on time and I no longer respected it.
These changes stand only a nightmare away from our lives, and the so-called "daily" is so fragile. Invisible strangeness lurks around us, poised to leap from the text into reality. It feels like standing with Cortázar on the edge of an abyss. With each line Cortázar writes, each line we read, the abyss stretches a few meters deeper, and the darkness we gaze into deepens, as if we are about to fall into it, into the wondrous kingdom Cortázar has created.
