What is a good life?

This book explores several topics in ethics. Those who have read a few books know that nearly all principles have already been articulated by our predecessors. For some of these, I offer my own reflections and reflections, attempting to recount them in a way that is accessible to the average contemporary Chinese reader. For others, where previous interpretations seem flawed or inadequate, I attempt to improve them. Perhaps I haven't achieved this—I always have low expectations for myself. I hope that a few readers will share my experience and experience that honest thinking is truly one of life's great joys.
The question "How should I live?" isn't just a question at the beginning of life; it's a question that persists throughout a person's life. This question isn't primarily about choosing a path, or choosing the right or wrong one, but about walking that path—knowing what path we're walking and how to walk it: Are we walking in harmony with our true nature?
When initially "choosing a path in life," no one possesses a complete understanding of their own nature, their surroundings, or the ability to foresee changes in those circumstances. We can't initially fully grasp our own nature, not because we're not intelligent enough, but because our nature isn't concrete enough at first. It needs to gradually become clear to us through the complexities of practice. Perhaps in this sense, we can understand Goethe's description of his Faust as a series of increasingly pure or reincarnated efforts. I understand this "purity" or "purity" as self-transparency. I believe this self-transparency is the core meaning of phronesis—a clear understanding of where one is, a seamless understanding of oneself and the path one is taking, allowing one to align with one's true nature and maintain a consistent path.
