"From Kafka to Kafka" compiles 13 of Blanchot's essays on Kafka. Beginning with Kafka and ending with Kafka, this book pays tribute to the literary master. Kafka's influence on Blanchot is evident in his renowned essay "The Space of Literature." When writing becomes a "form of prayer," it undoubtedly arises from other forms, even if, in our unfortunate world, writing has ceased to be a work. Kafka, in a moment of forgiveness, recognized the pursuer of literature and realized that he should not write anymore—one word is too many!
...Kafka wanted to destroy his work, perhaps because he believed it would only multiply public misunderstandings. In this chaotic process of reading, we become part of the work, in fact, we are reflected in certain fragments, unfinished works, the parts of the light that are recognized and obscured, thus always furthering the fragmentation of those works, and finally shattering them into the size of dust, like posthumous works that are always inseparable from morality. When faced with these silent works that are often invaded by long-winded reviews, these unpublished works that become the subject of endless publication, these eternal works that have become historical footnotes, we have to ask ourselves whether Kafka himself, in the midst of his glorious victory, had a premonition of an equal degree of disaster.
