_The Kindly Relationship_ is a collection of novellas and short stories by Hungarian writer László Krasznahorkai, featuring eight stories including his representative works "József and the Traps" and "The Barber's Hand." His works are often categorized as postmodern fiction due to their unusual sentence structures, vague settings, elusive meanings, highly跳跃性 plots, often radial structures, consistently ambiguous narrators, and mysterious endings. Additionally, the preface written by Professor Yu Zemin for the work is excellent, not only detailing the author's creative journey but also using firsthand information based on his own experiences to analyze Krasznahorkai's almost瘋狂 "Chinese complex," which will undoubtedly bridge the gap between readers and the work.

Although the reading journey is arduous and winding, there are always surprises and moving moments waiting for readers to discover. In Hungarian literature, Krasznahorkai's long sentences are unique, posing a reading challenge even for Hungarian readers. The sentence structures are difficult to read yet rewarding, delicate yet rough, complex, grand, and full of rhythm. It is said that his English translator won a translation award because critics believed he "invented a Krasznahorkai-esque English."
