书籍简介
There's a line from "The Travels of Lao Can": "The road ahead is derived from the road in the past. If you take two steps and look back, you won't be wrong."
Since 2020, the pandemic has disrupted the entire world. In these "worst" times, we might as well slow down, look back, and search for clues in literature.
Professor Xu Zidong's book, "Rereading 20th-Century Chinese Fiction," examines and discusses 93 of the most well-known and representative novels from modern, contemporary, and contemporary Chinese literary history, arranged roughly in chronological order of their publication. The book ranges from Liang Qichao's "New China's Future" in 1902 to Liu Cixin's "The Three-Body Problem" in 2006. While reviewing the imaginary worlds depicted by last-century novelists, it also attempts to explore the development of novel history through the lens of these works.
