Historical image of time

The Palace Museum's clock and watch collection is a unique and significant part of the world's horological collections, attracting increasing attention from both academic and collectors worldwide. For over a decade, the study of the history of Chinese clocks and watches, and the history of Chinese imperial clock and watch collections, has been a primary focus of the author's research. Over a period of time, he has published over a dozen papers and articles on the subject in various journals. "Historical Images of Time" builds on these research findings. Through the collation, verification, and analysis of physical objects, archives, and documents, the book strives to paint a realistic picture of Chinese clock and watch history and the history of Chinese imperial clock and watch collections, drawing upon solid historical facts. It encompasses the fundamental and key aspects of Chinese clock and watch history and the history of clock collections.
